History & Establishment
Government Secondary School Zemithang is a significant educational landmark in the remote border region of Arunachal Pradesh, recently upgraded to meet the growing needs of the local community.
Founded in 1964, the school operated for decades as a Middle School, serving Grades 1–8. It was officially upgraded to a Secondary School in 2023, and in 2024 launched its first-ever Class X batch — a historic milestone marking it as the first and only secondary school in the entire Zemithang area.

GSS Zemithang is a co-educational institution with an attached pre-primary section. Instruction is in English and the academic session begins every April.
